Economic Goal #1: Allow small-scale, appropriate business endeavors and home occupations throughout town.

Implementation Strategies:

Amend General Zoning Ordinance to permit home occupations. (Land Use Committee December, 1993)

Develop performance standards to protect character of the Town. (Land Use Committee December, 1993)

Economic Goal #2: To promote an economic climate that increases job opportunities through the encouragement of appropriate local business.

Implementation Strategies:

•Form a town-wide economic development group that will market Lincolnville as an attractive place to do business. (Economic Development Committee, Selectmen May, 1993)

Encourage land use standards in growth areas that will attract small business to Lincolnville while assuring that such businesses don’t detract from the village character. (Land Use Committee December, 1993)

Study the possibility of infrastructure improvements in growth areas that will encourage economic growth. (Town Administrator, Selectmen, CEO- December, 1993)

Encourage the town to take advantage of state and federal programs which provide economic assistance to communities. (Town Office Staff ,ongoing)

Encourage an efficient permitting process that will clearly indicate to perspective entrepreneurs the steps necessary to obtain permits. (CEO, Town Administrator)
