Recreational Goal #1 To maintain and improve the public facilities at Lincolnville Beach The Beach area, with its state and town beaches, boat ramp, pier and moorings, is a valuable recreational resource for the citizens of Lincolnville.

Implementation Strategy:

Encourage the state to clean up the State Beach parking area. (Harbor Committee, Town Administrator - May, 1993)

Recreational Goal #2: To ensure that the peninsula at the end of Ducktrap Lane remains in its present natural state. The Ducktrap Harbor area is a unique, natural recreational resource, prized by Lincolnville residents for its natural beauty.

Implementation Strategies:

Discourage improvements in the immediate vicinity of the park. (Recreation Committee)

Encourage plan for a foot access trail from Route 1 down to the Ducktrap park area. (Recreation Committee, Town Administrator - December, 1993)

Recreational Goal #3: To plan for a future gymnasium facility at the School to serve students and Lincolnville residents The existing cafetorium is not adequate as a gymnasium facility to serve the needs of Lincolnville students.

Implementation Strategy:

Encourage the School Committee in its work on this project. (School Committee & Budget Committee - Ongoing)

Recreational Goal #4 To encourage the continued free access to all portions of the Camden Hills State Park located In Lincolnville by Lincolnville residents for a wide variety of traditional recreational uses. Tanglewood and the State Park are valuable recreational resources for the residents of Lincolnville.

Continued free access is important to the recreational needs of Lincolnville residents.

Implementation Strategies:

Encourage participation by town Representatives in the Tanglewood long-range planning process. (Selectmen, Town Administrator, Recreation Committee - Done)

Encourage state to begin selective cutting in rotating sections of the Park, using tree-marking by licensed foresters and bidding out logging and hauling.

Recreational Goal #5: Encourage the Recreation Committee to look into the feasibility of building a small park with swings and ballfield in Beach area.
