In order to register your vehicle, we need the previous registration and proof of insurance. We can process new registrations.

Please bring in the following:

Sales tax form
Title application and/or title
Previous registration of vehicle traded or sold which plates are being transferred
Proof of insurance
Current mileage

For registration of a NEW car, it is MANDATORY to have the Monroney Label or window sticker. This became law September 19, 1997.

In addition to renewals, we also process registrations for new ATV's and snowmobiles. A bill of sale is needed, and a 5% sales tax on the purchase price with be collected on private sales (dealerships collect sales tax at time of purchase). The resident ATV registration is $33.00 plus the agent fee. The resident snowmobile registration is $40.00 plus the agent fee.

New: Please bring bill of sale and Maine registration numbers (if already on boat and previously registered in Maine by prior owner). State sales tax on purchase price will be collected on private sale. Dealerships collect sales tax at time of purchase.

Renewals: Excise is computed on boat's age, length, and engine horsepower. The Inland Fisheries and Wildlife fees are now also based on the horsepower of the motor.

New and Renewal trailer registrations are performed at the Lincolnville Town Office.

Renewals: Please bring last year's registration.
