Voting - Elections

Residents of Lincolnville may register to vote or change their party enrollment at the Town Office during regular office hours, at the polls at time of elections, or by mail.

A Maine Voter Registration Application and instructions can be obtained at the Town Office, from the Maine Secretary of State's web site by clicking here or other sources.  Please complete the registration card in full and follow all of the instructions carefully as failure to complete the entire application may prevent registration.

New voters who register by mail must provide a copy of certain identity documents with the completed registration form. The mail-in registrant may submit a copy of a Maine Driver’s License or other valid photo ID, a current utility bill, a bank statement, a paycheck stub or other government document that shows the voter’s current name and address.

A registered voter in Maine may request an absentee ballot for any reason.  Absentee ballots are available 30 days prior to elections and ballots can be requested in person, by phone and electronically by clicking here.  Note that the electronic absentee ballot request system typically gets shut down by the State of Maine at 5:00PM on the Thursday prior to the election.  Persons making absentee ballot requests after 5 PM on the Thursday prior to election are required to submit a Special Circumstance form.  For more information, please contact the Registrar of Voters at the Town Office, 763-3555, or online at www.maine.gov.
